Marty Jaeger has over 14 years experience consulting over 200 organizations in their quest to achieve ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, RC14001® certification while assisting the organizations in enhancing their performance.
His first client achieved registration to ISO 9002:1987 in early 1994 when there were less than 700 reported ISO registrations in the U.S. Nine years later the client selected him to upgrade their system to ISO 9001:2000. them on their ISO 14001:2004 implementation. He also provided the consulting services that enabled one of the first food companies in the US to achieve ISO 9002:1994 registration in 1995.
His consulting, implementation, auditing and teaching experience includes 5s, cGMP (including HACCP), lean, lean office, risk management, root cause analysis, statistical process control (SPC) and total productive maintenance (TPM). He has provided various educational services to over 1000 organizations in the automotive, aerospace, chemical, food, manufacturing, capital equipment and service industries.
Recognized as being as comfortable talking to a lineman on the shop floor as he is talking to the CEO, he is noted for his interactive teaching style and has literally educated over ten thousand employees from top management down through the front-line in productivity, ISO-based management systems, advanced quality planning tools and internal auditing.
An IRCA certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Marty was one of the 1st 300 auditors to pass the automotive industries' test for Registrars’ auditors. He also subsequently passed a Lead Auditor course for aerospace, AS9100 Rev B; and, recently passed the 1st competency-based ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems Lead Auditor course approved by RABQSA in the U.S.
Marty Jaeger held the position of Vice President General Manager for a Ford Q1 supplier and Vice President Operations for a large US equipment manufacturer where he implemented the organization’s 1st supplier qualification program. He held management positions with Pronto Foods Division of Hershey Foods, Mystik Tape Division of Borden Chemical, DeMert & Dougherty (personal care and fuel line additives), AB Dick (reprographic and computer equipment); and, Imperial Eastman (pneumatics and hydraulics) for operations ranging in size from 100 to 7,500 employees, progressing to P & L responsibility. He held top management positions in four organizations and was a key player in three financial turnarounds.
Marty's speaking engagements include keynote speaker at a DeVry Institute Commencement exercise. He has been a featured presenter at over a dozen ASQ Section events in Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota speaking on the ISO-based Management System series of standards.
He served as an active member of both the US TAG to ISO/TC 176 Quality management and quality assurance through the publication of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TC 34 Food Products WG 12 through publication of ISO 22006:2009 Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001:2008 to crop production.
Quoted in Quality System Update’s “Panel of Experts” and in The Informed Outlook's "Q&A PSI Transition Advice", Marty has designed and developed over a dozen management development and ISO management system based courses and workshops. His articles, "The Bottom Line on QS-9000" and "Quality First – Then Registration" were published in Quality Systems Update.
His education includes MBA and B.S.B.A. degrees from Roosevelt University and undergraduate engineering study at Purdue University and a CPA certificate.
